Susan Bittner
Susan attended UOP Dental School, one of the most prestigious dental schools in America. Their ortho department is the best in the world.
Susan practiced for 30 years with her husband Gerald. Together they built one of the most successful dental practices in Northern California.
They gave back to their school and to their community. Susan created a mobile dental opportunity that served the unfortunate in Northern California at their expense.
Susan started Kids in the Klinic to raise funds for those children in the San Franciso area that could not afford dentistry. She raised over $2million for an endowment fund to make sure the program survived. Today Kids in The Klinic is serving children where it counts the most. Giving back is one of Susan's greatest gifts.
Susan and Gerald have 4 children that are now adults. 3 of their kids attended UOP. A son in law and two grandkids followed in their footsteps. 9 family members that have aspired to do great things in dentistry.
Many awards and many firsts in both Susan and Geralds life but they are most proud of their children and the difference they are making in the health field today.
30 years of dentistry and 30 plus years on the UOP Endowment Board. These two numbers speak volumes.
A daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother. Family is number one for this remarkable woman. Her commitment to her family and UOP and going the extra mile are wonderful examples for all of us to follow.
Susan enjoys riding her ebike and playing tennis. She is slowly picking up pickleball. Don't bet against her in Bridge if you know what I mean
Susan has opened the doors to UOP know known as the Dugoni school of dentistry to Stimcore. Having a major dental school behind our device suite is priceless for us moving forward.

John Evey
May 2022
In recent years, John Evey provided strategic assistance to the executive and board leaders of ~two dozen companies (multiple sectors) with the potential to create substantial financial benefit for shareholders while also creating a more positive future for people globally. He is also a co-manager of several entities that facilitate mutually-beneficial relationships between companies in North America with partners that can help open major global markets globally. His day to day focus since 2017 has been managing an impact venture fund investing in companies that can do well financially while advancing transformational technologies to enhance a healthier future for people everywhere. That fund, Growing Impact Ventures, LP, closed to investment in 2021.
For the 36 years prior to June 2012, Evey led development and advancement programs for notable charitable organizations and educational institutions. The most recent of those was Nature and Culture International, a conservation organization that has directly catalyzed the preservation of more than 25 million acres of tropical forests, primarily in the Andes and Amazon of Ecuador and Peru. Directly prior to that, Evey served for four years as Vice President for Development at the J. Craig Venter Institute (“JCVI”), for which pioneering genomic research entity he was responsible for generating collaborative partnerships and funding from all sources except federal agencies.
From 1985 to 2007, Evey held major roles with three universities, most recently as Assistant Director of Scripps Institution of Oceanography and Executive Director of Development for the Marine Sciences at University of California, San Diego (“UCSD”), which is a global research powerhouse. Before joining Scripps/UCSD, Evey was Vice President for Institutional Advancement at University of the Pacific. He served, prior to that, for more than a decade as Director of Development at Oregon State University. At Pacific, Evey was responsible for all external relations programs for that three-campus university (Stockton, Sacramento, and San Francisco). At Oregon State, he led the university’s entire charitable giving program for that Carnegie Tier I research institution, including those within its service mission of extending research for application as a land-, sea-, space- and now sun-grant university.
His earlier experience includes roles as founding director of the Office for Resource Development at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and as the initial association executive for Oregon Advocates for the Arts (OAA). As a volunteer, his catalytic efforts led to the creation of the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy, an entity now active for more than 40 years. As an officer of the Travel Industry Council of Oregon while with OAA, Evey and two colleagues successfully advocated the creation and funding of a Tourism Division in the Oregon Department of Economic Development.
Evey has chaired the boards of one public and a few private companies, and currently serves as an outside director of four private companies and an observer with others. As a volunteer, he has been supportive of the Kyoto Prize Symposium in San Diego, which hosts presentations by the Kyoto Prize laureates each spring. In addition, Evey is an active member of the board of Nature and Culture International. He is also an Eagle Scout.
